About Bhojana Amritam

Bhojana Amritam Humble Initiative

Bhojana-Amritam is a humble initiative to serve the underprivileged in-patient attenders at Government Hospitals. Bhojana-Amritam offers a free meal program to the beneficiaries at various Government and Trust run hospitals across Telangana. The activity was initiated under the Hare Krishna Movement, Hyderabad in 2011 and the Indo American Cancer Hospital was the first beneficiary under this pilot project. The programme witnessed appreciation from bureaucrats and requests from various Government and Trust run hospitals to expand and implement Bhojana-Amritam programme at hospitals across Hyderabad.

The successful implementation of the programme encouraged partnership with the Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) in 2012 and applause from then GHMC Commissioner, Sri. Somesh Kumar (Chief Secretary, Govt of Telangana), who was impressed with the cause of feeding the underprivileged and meticulous execution of service by the Hare Krishna Charities. Bhojana-Amritam progressively expanded with time and now serves piping hot meals alleviating the anxiety and hunger of more than 2500 beneficiaries across 15 hospitals every day who otherwise do not get a square meal to make ends meet.

WHY THIS INITIATIVE?

Access to medical care and assistance has always been a challenge among the underprivileged sectors in India. Technology in healthcare has improved multiple levels since 2 decades but the conditions of the rural healthcare system remains untouched. Many people from the rural settlements travel to metro cities to seek medical assistance from government hospitals and many of them have to stay back for months to treat various chronic ailments and illnesses. While the hospital authorities attend to the nutritional needs of the patients - attenders, caretakers, and frontline workers are left forgotten ...

Bhojana-Amritam reaps the nectar of bliss among the underprivileged in-patient attenders, caretakers and frontline workers of various government and trust run hospitals in Hyderabad. Hare Krishna Charities ensure that the hunger needs of these people are fulfilled everyday with hot and hygienic mid-day meals with the concept of free food to the poor and vulnerable. We are helping them to get what they deserve and we need your help in serving them better. Hare Krishna Charities offers a hassle free online donation so that your contribution directly reaches the plates of the needy.

You can seamlessly make an online donation in India or from anywhere around the world and show your contribution to Bhojana Amritam or to our Hi-Tech kitchen that aids us technologically to support efficient preparation and distribution of food to the government hospitals in masses. Donate a meal today and witness unmatched gratitude in their smiles.
